The IISS Manama Dialogue will hold its final day group discussion sessions on Sunday.

The sessions to be held simultaneously behind closed doors have been arrayed for today as follows:

1- Led by Professor T. Dodge, senior researcher and advisor for Middle East affairs at the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS), the first group’s session will discuss Yemen’s future, during which Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani, Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Riyadh Yassin, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Sir Alan Duncan, Special British Envoy to Yemen and Oman, will speak during the first group’s session.

2- The second group session will cover the theme of “GCC countries defence posture and external forces” led by General Richard Lord H., senior Advisor for ME and Asia-Pacific region in the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS), Kuwait’s National Security Agency chief Sheikh Thamir Al Sabah, General Lloyd James Austin III Commander of US-CENTCOM, HRH Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al Faisal; and, General Richard Barons Commander of UK Joint Defence Forces.

3- The third discussion group will be led by Nikolas Redman , the Editing Director of Publications in the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Dr. Abdullah Al-Matooq, Amiri Diwan Advisor and Humanitarian Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Kristian Berger Director and Deputy GM for Middle East, North Africa in the European Union (EU) Commission, Farhat Bin Kadara Special Advisor of Libya’s Prime Minister, Emil Hakim senior fellow for Middle East security in the International Institute for Strategic Studies. AND

4- The fourth discussion group, led by Sir John Jenkins, the Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), former Prime Minister of Tunisia, Hammadi al-Jebali, former Egyptian foreign minister and Dean of International Relations and Public Policy College in the American University in Cairo, Nabil Fahmi; and, Dr. Nelly Lahoud senior fellow researcher in political Islam in the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) will partake in the discussion.
