Manama,(BNA) – Council of Representatives today held its first session of the fourth legislative term under the chairmanship of MP Abdulrahman Bu-Ali, the oldest among the Council members. 


MP Bu-Ali, in his speech, extended to HM the King sincere congratulations on Bahrain’s National Day and thanks for patronizing the first session of the fourth legislative term. 

He said the large public participation in the elections has highlighted the free will and high-level of awareness of the people of Bahrain for better future. 

He pledged to continue cooperation with executive branch toward the development of the national action, services, housing and economy , noting the support provided for legislative and executive branches by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. 

MP Ahmed Al-Mulla, by majority of votes, won the House chairmanship against MP Abdulla Huwail, the runner-up for the same post. 

MP Al-Mulla extended congratulations to HM the King, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince on the opening of the first session of the fourth legislative term and the success of the parliamentary and municipal elections, describing the 2014 polls as another milestone in the reform and democratic project. 

He took pride in the trust vested in him and vowed to shoulder responsibility to serve the homeland. 

Minister for Shura Council and Parliament Affairs, Ghanim bin Fadhl Al-Buainin, also addressed the session, congratulating the wise leadership on the success of the elections and the new Parliament Speaker and members.
