Dammam,  – (BNA): The Riyadh-based Al Yaum daily praised the solid, deep-rooted, historical fraternal relations between both leaderships and peoples of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain.


The Saudi newspaper cited the constantly growing and developing relations emanating from the mutual goal and firm bonds regarding various issues, social and familial ties and membership in regional and international organisations which contributed in drawing clear mutual visions.

Al Yaum said that the historic bilateral ties date back to the era of the first Saudi State (1475-1818) and the second Saudi State (1840-1891) until the first historic visit of HM King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud to Bahrain following his return from a meeting with King Faisal in Iraq on 21 Ramadan 1348H/27 February 1930 when he decided on his way to visit his old-time friend Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa the then Ruler of Bahrain.

The newspaper also cited the distinctive cultural dimensions of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and Bahrian’s effective participation in the yearly Janadriyah Festival attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
