Manama, (BNA) — His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister this evening visited the majlis of the Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh in Salmaniya and the majlis of Al Jalahma family in Riffa.
During his visits, His Royal Highness stressed that individual rights and enhanced democracy are vital pillars in the Kingdom’s programme of reform and development. He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to upholding these principles in the firm interest of all Bahrainis under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. He further emphasised the importance of maintaining a gradualist and sustainable approach to reform and development in order to continue expanding the Kingdom’s achievements and successes.
His Royal Highness added that principles of mutual respect in Bahrain’s diverse society contribute significantly to the Kingdom’s ongoing development and long term stability. He emphasised how these principles serve to guard against external influences, enhanced by regional events and upheavals which undermine the Kingdom’s pursuit of the interests of all Bahrainis.
His Royal Highness went on to highlight that His Majesty King Hamad’s visits across the country, and various engagements with the Kingdom’s local communities, reinforce participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections as a universal right protected by the constitution. This right, he said, will only serve to increase the Kingdom’s political development.
His Royal Highness then highlighted the significant role of the National Assembly, including the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, in enhancing democratic practices and expanding participation in the Kingdom’s wider development.
His Royal Highness also emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination among the legislative, executive and judicial authorities. He highlighted that strong coordination will help drive further development across the Kingdom’s vital sectors and improve government services.
In this regard, His Royal Highness added that strong coordination directly benefits Bahrain’s citizens and reinforces principles of transparency and accountability. He also stressed the importance of encouraging Bahrain’s youth to improve academic performance and pursue higher degrees to enhance their contributions to Bahrain’s society and compete in today’s global economy.
His Royal Highness extended his best wishes to the people of Bahrain during the holy month of Ramadan, and highlighted the role of Ramadan majlises in demonstrating the close bonds of Bahrain’s society, which have helped maintain a clear commitment to Bahraini values.
Majlis attendees expressed their gratitude for His Royal Highness’ visit and praised his clear commitment to providing a better quality of life for all Bahrainis and furthering development across various sectors.
