Manama,  (BNA) – Minister of Labour, Jameel bin Mohammad Ali humaidan, has affirmed the implementation of the Ministerial Edict No. (3) of 2013 on banning construction sector workers to work under the sun and in open places from midday until 4:00 pm throughout months of July and August , which has been successfully applied for the eighth consecutive year, confirms Bahrain’s commitment to protect workers’ rights and safety in workplaces. 
Labour Minister added that the Labour Ministry has conducted a field survey and prepared database shows the number of sites and their commitment to the aforementioned ministerial edict.

He called on all private sector companies and institutions to organize their daily working hours and develop technical solutions to reduce the ambient temperature and humidity in the various workplaces, in addition to providing the required safety tools and equipment. 

He called for enhancing workers’ awareness on the risk of stress in Summer and means of preventing it, as well as training workers on the use of first aid, which will have a positive impact on improving the relationship between employers and workers and on productivity level.
