Manama, (BNA)The number of retail trainees increased by 7% last year to top 2870, compared with 2012. The budget earmarked for training courses also soared by 10% last year to reach BD985, 949.

“The value of training courses increased more than four times compared with the 2002 figures”, Chairperson of the Specific Council for Training in the Retail Sector Amal Yusuf Almoayyed said.
In a statement today, she stressed the efforts exerted over the past years to promote training which impacted positively the national economy and the development momentum in Bahrain.

She announced that a ceremony would be held under the patronage of Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan to honour companies which played an outstanding role in promoting training last year.

Executive Director of the Specific Council for Training in the Retail Sector Safiya Saleh Al-Shehab commended the honoured companies, stressing their crucial role to train and integrate citizens in the labour market. She underscored the crucial importance of technical training to enhance Bahrainis’ employability in line with Bahrainisation schemes.
