Paris,  (BNA) – A Bahraini delegation took part in an international forum on Women’s Leadership in Public Life under the theme “Fostering Diversity for Inclusive Growth”, held by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OCED) on April 2-4 in Paris. The delegation reviewed Bahrain’s experience in the integration of women’s needs through the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women (2013-2022), and explained the national model for the integration of the needs of women and men in the development process. The delegation highlighted the role played by Supreme Council for Women (SCW)’s President Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, through chairing the National Committee to follow up the implementation of the national model and cooperation with partners in the integration of the women’s needs in the government work program. Bahrain’s delegation enhanced the information about the experiences of OCED members in highlighting the role of women leaderships and the major challenges that may hinder women from reaching leadership posts in public sector. The forum reviewed the role of women in public life and in leadership positions, mechanisms to integrate the needs of women in programmes, policies and comprehensive development. It also highlighted the competencies that have enabled women to hold leadership positions in political, parliamentary, legislative, economic, social and civil areas. The delegation was made up of Ministry of State for Follow-up Affairs’ Advisor, Bahrain’s National Coordinator at the International Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development for Middle East and African countries, Nada Ahmed Yassin, SCW’s Director of National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini women, Acting Director-General of Policy and Development, Dr. Dunia Ahmed Abdullah and Acting Director of Public and International Relations, Shaikha Dina Al Khalifa.
