Manama- (BNA) Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa opened the Malaysian Week at the Bahrain City Centre under the theme “Visit Malaysia”.

The event, scheduled to run until Monday (March3), is being coordinated between The Ministry of Culture and the Malaysian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Malaysia has chosen Bahrain to launch the campaign as Manama is being feted as Capital of Asian Tourism.

Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa welcomed the initiative which recognizes Manama as a gateway to the world and a cultural crossroad to promote tourism milestones and monuments in Asia.

He stressed the importance of Bahrain on the global tourism map, with Manama already celebrated last year as Capital of Arab Tourism.

Malaysian Culture and Tourism Ministry director for international relations Nader Yahya paid tribute to the Ministry of Culture in Bahrain for supporting the “Visit Malaysia Week”.
