Human Rights Minister participates in GCC Forum

Manama: Feb. 3 — (BNA): Minister of State for Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdul-Rahman led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s official delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the GCC Human Rights Accomplishments Forum.

The forum takes place in Riyadh, KSA on February 4-5 and is slated to be attended by GCC Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Ministers and officials as well as intellectuals and experts in this field.

The Minister said his participation at the forum would be a good opportunity to present an overview of the Bahraini experience that attracts the attention and interest from various human rights organizations in view of the Government’s continuous communications with human rights organizations and commitment to develop human rights practices as per international standards.

The forum comes as part of the GCC General Secretariat’s efforts aimed to portray the great accomplishments made by GCC countries in the field of human rights and to respond to disinformation and willful allegations voiced by foreign entities aimed to distort the impeccable human rights record of the GCC-member countries.

The forums sheds light on various themes primarily GCC positive accomplishments in safeguarding human rights and dignity emanating from the very compassionate principles of Islam. (IY)
